My favorite types of photos are photographs that induce the feeling of nostalgia. For example, I love old film photographs with nice colors and tasteful grain because it creates a very timeless look people can love and relate to. I feel that if you really pay attention to the world around you, anything can be a beautiful photograph that creates sentiment. Going about my photo series, I kept the works of William Eggleston and Stephen Shore, who share similar styles. I love how they look at things they see every single day, or old discarded things, and still find enough worth in those things to create art with it. With my series, I focused on old discarded things, along with color to create visually interesting photographs in hand with sentiment and nostalgia. In editing and shooting I was conscious of adding grain to replicate the vintage photographs I love to look at myself, especially with the vibrancy of the colors. The places I chose to shoot at were places I found. I was lucky enough to find two old abandoned blue and yellow cars that conveniently matched the blue and yellow abandoned car wash.
